You must have known Chubby Checker for his infamous rock n roll dance sensation The Twist. The American singer recorded this famous number in 1959 as a rendition of Hank Ballard’s The Twist. He still performs it and was last seen shaking to it for an ad of Oreo Cookies.
Called as King of Twist, Checker was a millionaire by the age of 22. After his early success, he proposed his Dutch girlfriend, Catharina Lodders. She was the Miss World 1962 with Haalem roots who took his heart away. They got married in 1964 at Temple Lutheran Church and welcomed three children together.
