Gunther Jauch ist ohne jeden Zweifel Deutschlands beliebtester Quizmaster. Im Gegensatz zu manch anderem Fernsehstar hat er aber keine Lebensgefährtin, die sich auch im Showbusiness befindet. Er ist schon seit 1988 mit Krankengymnastin Dorothea Sihler zusammen. 2006 heiratete das mittlerweile wahrscheinlich sehr gut eingespielte Team in Potsdam. Zusammen bekamen sie zwei leibliche Tochter sowie adoptierten sie zwei weitere Tochter aus Sibirien. Die Fernsehauftritte sind in seinem sehr zurückgezogenen Familienleben also definitiv die Ausnahme. An prominenten Freunden mangelt es der Familie allerdings nicht, so ist zum Beispiel Thomas Gottschalk eng mit den Jauchs befreundet.
