Pam Grier – Age 71 years
Considered by many as cinema’s first female action star, Pamela Suzette Grier, is an outlier in the best sense of the word. An icon of blaxploitation films (off-the-wall black action movies), Grier has been an outspoken and avid supporter of race and gender equality over the years. She wrote honestly about her history with assault in her autobiography Foxy: My Life in Three Acts and how she chafed against the image presented about her. Before stepping into the industry, Grier was a cheerleader when she was 19.
Grier, though never married, was involved in high-profile relationships. Most notably with comedians Freddie Prinze and Richard Pryor.
